Classic Vanilla Buttercream

A classic vanilla buttercream needs no description. You can use it to frost cakes or cupcakes and can be dyed using food coloring to make it any color that you’d like. This recipe will make about 2 and 1/2 cups of frosting which is enough to frost a round layered cake, a 9 x 13 inch cake, or 24 cupcakes.

Enjoy! ~ Kelly

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer, cream the butter. Using a hand or stand mixer, beat in the powdered sugar. Add in one cup of sugar at a time to avoid a sugar cloud. Add in the milk and vanilla. Beat until it’s a creamy consistency. You can add more milk, 1 teaspoon at a time, or more sugar to reach your desired consistency.
